Freeset, located in Sonagacchi – the largest red light sex trade district in Kolkata, India is a social justice business that solely exists to provide employment, self-dignity, hope and freedom to women. Launched in 2001, Freeset grew from a small business that could only employed a handful of 20 women to one that now provides over 160+ jobs, education, health care, medical insurance, basic life skills training, financial advisement, a nursery and pension plan.

One of our favorite designers, Rough Roses, recently opened their first retail store inLos Angeles. The Handbago crew ventured out to the new location to see the fabulous bags and shot a video of the store! We chatted with owner and designer, Wynn Katz, admired the gorgeous bags and played dress up with our resident stylist Janellica, who styled some amazing Rough Roses apparel with their bags! Our obsession with hands-free bags began when talking about the infamous indie music fest, Coachella. What one wears to the 3 day music event is almost as important as who's playing. Oversized sunnies? Check. Billowy peasant dress? Check. Cut off denim shorts? Obviously. But what bag do I wear? Certainly no one wants to be schlepping around their oversized hobo or expensive leather bag that weighs down your shoulders or could potentially be ruined by the desert elements. Then I thought of quintessential fashionista, Carrie Bradshaw. Of course!

I had a chance to check out Tucker Paisley's Spring/Summer 2010 Collection of bags and they are gorgeous! Great colors and a variety of bags and small leather accessories. The Sydney Shoulder Bag is a great shoulder bag in gorgeous leather and gold hardware. The interior is lined with Tucker Paisley's signature print fabric. The Sydney retails for $400 and comes in navy, camel and white.
