Color Block Your Way to Handbag Perfection

A great way to get noticed this season is to rock the color block! This spring brings unexpected color juxtapositions and bold hues on everything from headbands to handbags. By adding candy apple greens, fire engine reds, or mellow yellows (yes, pastels!) to your color palette, you are bound to turn some heads! Don't be afraid to try out different color combinations with different accessories, the results can be unexpectedly chic.

A Handbag for the 4 Biggest Trends of Fall/Winter 2012

Members from the Italian leather System consortium were at The Arts & Tannery Show in New York, showing off not off not one, but four big trends for 2012’s fall/winter fashion: Jurassic mood, Work Attitude, Classic Suggestions, and Remutating Flair. All of these trends have already made some kind of appearance as we begin to transition, but it doesn’t hurt to take a closer look at all of them! Jurassic Mood

Let's see them, shall we? ONWARD!

Trendy Thursday: The Tote

You've got your beach towel, sunglasses, a few month's worth of Vogue, your bathing suit and, of course, a wallet. The question: where will you keep all of your belongings without cramming it into your handbag? The answer: a tote!
To me, summer feels as though it's just started, yet when I look at my calendar, that clearly isn't the case. In the purgatorial state of the season, I start to get a bit indecisive about my handbag collection. Do I still have time to buy a white handbag that I'll use for two months? Maybe I should start investing in more exotics. With the season getting later so quickly, I want a darker bag; however, it IS still summer, so there's no reason to go all that dark...

Joy Fabiano Summer 2010 is Upcycled with Vintage Japanese Silks

Joy Fabiano is releasing their third line of eco-friendly bags with a retro-fitted twist. Rachel Sanches, designer of Joy Fabiano, has incorporated Japanese culture into her Summer 2010 upcycled collection. Remnants of WWII Japanese silks have been woven onto luxurious leathers in multiple styles to create an Asian fusion with modern style. The fold over style is my favorite for clutches right now which is why the Camilla Clutch is my top choice from this collection. Soft yellow leather is wrapped in a bursting flower pattern silk with vibrant hues. I love this bag for any daytime summer cotton dress. For those of you obsessed with the cross-body style (which who isn't?), check out the Letitia. White leather with the vintage Japanese flowers attached in an applique style, make this bag funky and functional. Check out this quick interview with Rachel Sanches herself about her eco-friendly approach to fashion.
