Handbago Review: Elemental Threads

Elemental Threads is not your ordinary handbag brand. It's actually a company that makes custom handbags and pouches. Jessica designed a pouch that she could use as a makeup pouch or small bag that she could carry into a store without bringing her entire handbag. Made from a printed cotton resembling a wood grain with antique brass hardware, this straight wristlet is absolutely adorable and picture perfect for travel. Jessica did a great job designing!

How does it work? First, pick the shape of the bag that you want. From a small coin pouch to a larger drawstring bag, Elemental Threads offers a variety of shapes and styles. Secondly, choose the fabric that you'd like for the body of your bag. Elemental Threads offers solid and printed fabrics in cotton, organic cotton, tweed, canvas, bamboo and specialty fabrics. Then you also want to choose a fabric for the handle as well as the color of hardware you want (nickel or antique brass). Thirdly, choose the color of the zipper, if necessary, and the color of the nylon lining of the bag. Lastly, purchase and wait for your custom design to arrive in the mail.

The idea of designing your own bag or pouch is fabulous! Although it can be overwhelming if you don't know what you want, designing your own bag is a great way to own a bag that completely represents you! Plus, all of these bags are washable since they're made in cotton, canvas, etc.

Elemental Threads also offers the option to send an old favorite tee shirt that they will use as the fabric of your bag! Reuse and renew! It's all about the Green Movement these days, and the idea of recycling an old tee shirt to make your own travel pouch sounds like a perfect eco-friendly idea!

Overall, I think this company is on to something cool! I would love to see more shapes and styles of bags…possible a messenger perhaps? Or something more structured? Who knows. But nonetheless, Elemental Threads is a cool company with a cool concept.
