Eclectic, Western, tactful, luxurious and one-of-a-kind. Horse + Nail is is all of the above and pushing the creative handbag limits when it comes to the usefulness of equestrian tack, brilliant horse hair and raccoon and fox tails. With my history in equestrian sports, I find it of interest to see the artfulness in the snaffle bit--something of which any horseback-riding bagista would know about and Horse + Nail conquers.
A handbag label with lots of guts when it comes to the creative aesthetic in designing handbags, Horse + Nail has no problem using materials that are out of the ordinary. Using braided horse hair as a handbag strap? How edgy can they get? Each bag is made once ordered, so it's special to its bagista and one-of-a-kind. With a style that seems to be a happy marriage between Western tact and Rock n' Roll edge, Horse + Nail has a mind of its own in the fashion industry.
My personal favorite from Horse + Nail Fall 2010 line happens to be the Altair hobo in Winter White. Made with soft lambskin and detailed with fringe and a dee ring bit as its strap, this handbag is beautifully crafted with the aesthetic appeal in mind. However, each of their bags are designed with a certain type of bagista in mind and you should check them out.
